Broadcast Lineup Launches Elite Basketball Program Featuring Nation's Top RankedHigh School Player Emoni Bates

YPSILANTI, Mich.—November 9, 2020—Today, YPSI Prep Academy announced that it has partnered with basketball streaming service SUVtv to broadcast the highly anticipated YPSI Prep schedule for 2020-2021 season. SUVtv will be the flagship streaming platform for the YPSI lineup, which features the nation’s top ranked high school player, Emoni Bates, who has verbally committed to Michigan State. Bates is a star player on the YPSI Prep Academy, which was founded in early 2020 by Emoni’s father, Elgin (E.J.) Bates. YPSI Prep Academy is set to play a full schedule on the national stage for the program’s inaugural season.

According to E.J. Bates. “The successful creation of YPSI Prep will afford our players to play on a national stage and showcase their talents against the best competition in America. It’s a historic opportunity for kids from Michigan to be on this stage.”

The style, and generational talent, of 6-foot-9 Emoni Bates has been compared to that of a young Kevin Durant. Bates is the first high school sophomore ever to win the prestigious Gatorade National Player of the Year Award and the youngest basketball star ever to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Emoni Bates, who plays all five positions on the court, is on track to be part of the Michigan State Class of 2022. He and the YPSI Prep team will soon take part in the Battle Basketball Showcase, beginning November 20, 2020 in Dallas, Texas, which features the best of six elite schools, with their nationally ranked players.

“In addition to Emoni, there are a plethora of players & teams who will showcase their talents throughout the YPSI Prep broadcast schedule”, says Marques Burnett, Founder & CEO of SUVtv, “From college coaches looking to evaluate players to family, friends, and fans tuning in, we look forward to bringing YPSI Prep Academy basketball to screens and homes across the country.”

YPSI Prep joins the Atlanta Hawks, the Naismith Trophy, Holiday Hoopsgiving, Flyin’ To The Hoop, CP3 Rising Stars Camp, AEBL, The Skill Factory and more on the list of SUVtv partners and programming. Basketball fans will be able to watch live and on-demand YPSI coverage with a subscription to the YPSI Prep Academy premium broadcast pass on as well as the SUVtv app on Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV and Android TV.

In addition to Emoni Bates, the YPSI roster features a number of Division 1 recruits including Jaden Akins, Dillon Hunter, Javaughn Hannah, Shawn Phillips, Genesis Kemp, Logan Carson, Carson Cooper and Marlon Barnes.
